History
Simplifying a bit, it could be stated that L'Avalot artistic work in these forty years of activity of the company has revolved around two main axes: large-format street shows with pyrotechnics and shows around the world of the fair.
L'Avalot fairground
In the field of the fairground, we started with L'extraordinari viatge de Madam Dugongo i la seva companyia de fenòmens (1992), a show about freaks - fair monsters - based on magic numbers and variety shows. We will develop and vary this work, creating, in the same line, a new number like El canari canó (1996). The shows Carpa Fosca (2007) and Els secrets de Mr. Stromboli (2013), this last one in half with the company El que ma queda de teatre, are heirs to that first show. Also, and in collaboration with Passatge Insòlit we have developed some artistic fair attractions: Dia de Pesca (2008), TDB (2009) and Triabòlic (2024). Without leaving aside this festive aesthetic, and with a cinematic look, we stage Nosferatu revisitat (2023).
L'Avalot of fire
The second area around which L'Avalot artistic work revolves has to do with the birth of L'Avalot itself: we emerged from the Colla de Diables de Santa Coloma, and the first show Festa Ibera (1985) mixed theatrical action and pyrotechnics. From then on we created shows that combined great elements, action and pyrotechnics: Caos (1988), Dimecres de Cendra (1989), A Sotaterra (1990), Bonito paseo por el terror y la muerte (1993), Dinomaquia! (1999), Proyecto Cabeza (in collaboration with Discipulos de Morales) (2001), Drakoi (2002) and Dinomaquia2 (2006).
They are mainly Caos, Dinomaquia! and Dinomaquia2, shows that have allowed us to perform throughout Catalonia and Spain, but also in France, Portugal, Italy, England, Scotland, Germany, Ecuador and Venezuela. Finally, in 2020 we premiere FOC, the show that, in this area, we currently have active.
